The evolution from film to digital was a breakthrough to say the least. It brought us myriad advantages when it came to expense and quality.
But was it all worth it? Did we missed out on something during this revolutionary transition? Something that is way more important and priceless?

The idea was just a spur of the moment kind of thing. No scripting was done in pre-production. But I had in mind the shots I needed. The narration had to be decided upon later. The concept wasn't fully developed until the post-production.

ᴘʀɪɴᴄɪᴘʟᴇ ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏɢʀᴀᴘʜʏ

Filming the whole thing didn’t take long, maybe 4-5 hours. As there was no script, I was freer to shoot everything without limitations. It was all shot in natural light, no artificial lighting was used. That way, I got the required look without much fuss.

ɢᴇᴀʀ ᴜsᴇᴅ

Everything was shot on a Canon T5i with the Technicolor CineStyle profile. The only microphone I needed to use was the Rode smartLav+. I recorded the audio from inside a cupboard (to reduce the echo and cancel noise) and then synced it up with the footage in post. There was literally no other piece of gear that I used, not even a tripod. All of it was shot handled.

ᴘᴏsᴛ-ᴘʀᴏᴅᴜᴄᴛɪᴏɴ

Adobe Premiere Pro CC is what I used to edit all of it. The grading was done completely manually using FilmConvert. I also added an unsharp mask. The overlaying text were all created using After effects CC and rendered out separately using the Media Encoder CC from Adobe.
